In addition to the castles of the duchies of Parma and Piacenza we can recommend the Castle of Belgioioso in the province of Pavia – approximately 40km from Casarossa. The months of April and September see very interesting exhibitions and cultural events organised in the castle grounds. For example, the ‘Next Vintage’ market/exhibition hosts the work of many local fashion designers. There are also the ‘Antiquariato’ exhibition of fine antique furniture, the ‘Officinalia’ exhibition dedicated to medicinal (officinal) plants, a country fair centred around alternative medicine, and ‘Parole nel Tempo’ which is dedicated to small publishing houses.

The Castle of Paderna, in the comune of Pontenure, is distinguished by the accuracy of the restoration work of the medieval architecture and the warm welcome of guests. Travelling along the roads between the level fields one doesn’t seem to truly arrive at Paderna until the main tower looms above, a tower that seems to conceal the spacious court. The secrets and history of the castle are preserved against time in this authentic reservior of history and tradition. For example, all of the plants inside are in keeping with the times of medieval castles, and in October the castle hosts one of the most important exhibitions in Italia of ancient varieties of fruit.

Casarossa is located in Piacenza South (coming from Milan) - in the direction of the "Stadio", then direction Bobbio - Genoa - Val Trebbia - S.S. 45, after 12 km turn left at the crossing lights in direction Grazzano Visconti. The turnoff to Casarossa is located on the right after 1 km (you will see a road sign for "Cà Rossa".)
